Simple Math Shows Why Business Owners Should Develop Leadership

Recently in my organization I have seen a lack of leadership lead to low morale. I have been trying to simplify the problem so I can easily convince my boss, the business owner, to start developing leadership in himself and his managers. This may be overly simple math, but it nonetheless is true in my experiences:

poor leadership = low morale

low morale = poor productivity

poor productivity = low revenues

low revenues = less cash in the owners' pocket

This math can be applied to any organization. If this math was applied to a baseball team–say the Boston Red Sox in the 2012 seasonpoor productivity would be expressed as below average baseball statistics such as O.B.P. and E.R.A., and low revenues would be expressed as a losing record.

Is this too simple to expect my boss to catch on? I feel like growing human cells in a petri dish is easier than growing leadership in my organization!
